Shoaib Malik is a great husband, claims Sania Mirza -
Indian Tennis star, Sania Mirza, believes that her husband and former Captain of Pakistan team, Shoaib Malik, still has a long career ahead of him and he has the potential to bring a lot more laurels for his country.
Malik was out of the Pakistan team for about a year after a series of allegations on him regarding disruption in the dressing room atmosphere and links with bookmakers. However, he has been able to clear himself from the charges and now he is all set to make it big at the International stage once again.
Malik was recalled in Pakistan team for the tour of Zimbabwe but the all-rounder failed to make an impression against the minnows. However, the right-handed batsman has proved his worth many times in the past.
Sania revealed that apart from being her husband, she likes Malik as a cricketer as well. She also claimed that the couple faced a tough time after marriage as both of them struggled in their respective careers. However, things have started to go in the right direction now.
She said, "I am a fan of Shoaib, the cricketer, and believe he has lot of years of international cricket left in him. I want to see him reaching more milestones in the coming years. It has been a difficult time for us after marriage because both of us have had to travel a lot, but we have remained very close to each other and constantly kept in touch."
There have been speculations and rumours regarding the couple, but Sania silenced everyone by saying that she is completely happy with Malik and expressed that the former Pakistan captain is a very good husband.
"I don't speak on these issues but no matter what people say we are very happy together and personally I am very satisfied and happy," Sania added.
Pakistan team’s next assignment is against Sri Lanka at the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where the Green Shirts are scheduled to play three Test matches, five One Day Internationals and a T20 match. It is going to be a great chance for Malik to re-establish himself in the national team.
