Monique Adamczak began playing tennis at the age of nine and showed potential from her junior days, reaching the quarterfinal of the Wimbledon girls’ singles in 1999.
She won her first title a month later in India, defeating hometown favourite Manisha Malhotra 6-2 2-6 6-3.
Monique’s best Grand Slam performance came in 2007 when she reached the second round of the Australian Open, beating Iroda Tulyaganova in the first round before falling to No.3 seed Svetlana Kuznetsova.
Monique enjoyed a solid season in 2010, winning an ITF title in Irapuato, Mexico. In 2009, she won ITF titles in Santos, Bravil and Kharkiv, as well as qualifying for the main draw of the US Open.
In her spare time, Monique enjoys snowboarding and her dream is to play well and win matches in her home country.
